Exquisite Oceanfront Remodel: Top Floor, Corner Unit with Amazing Ocean Views!
Kanai A Nalu 4re12 is a totally remodeled, fully furnished, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom top floor, corner-unit oceanfront condo just steps from Sugar Beach in in South Maui.
Granite counters, stainless steal appliances, wine fridge, tile floors, new fans and fixtures, hardwood Shoji Screen privacy doors, textured wall treatment, and custom built Cherry Mahogany Cabinetry throughout the kitchens and the luxuriously appointed bathrooms are all part of a very pricey renovation. The condo was redecorated by Maisie Knowles in December, 2017. She replaced all furniture and home decor items.
Special custom installed windows enhance the gorgeous ocean and outer island views. A split air conditioning system allows guests to separately control the temperature in each room.
Included amenities are beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, body boards and other recreational items. Complimentary high speed wireless internet service, in-condo laundry with a large washer/dryer and iron/board are all included with your stay.

It was everything we hoped it would be. Luke is fantastically responsive and easy to work with. Ma’alea is lovely, and the secluded little beach at the end of the block was just right for our family. There’s not a lot immediately nearby, and after a brief adjustment, that is part of the charm. Yet the condo is a quick drive from plenty of great restaurants, shopping, and beaches in Kihei, Wailuku, Paia, and more. When you’ve had your fill and are ready to retreat back for peace and quiet, Maalaea is perfectly suited. Luke and Maisie put together a book of recommendations across the island; every one is a hit. Photograph the pages so you’ll have the suggestions handy while you are out and about and want to make impromptu plans. Book this stay–you will be happy you did. |

| Tracy L stayed August, 2023 Extremely Clean ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited Maui in early August with our 2 boys (14 & 11), and felt so fortunate that we found and were able to stay in this beautiful condo. Not only did I prefer this condo to a pricey Ka’anapali resort we had visited previously, but the nearby beach was way better than the Ka’anapali beach! The condo came equipped with basic necessities (plates, glasses, towels) and was extremely clean (which was good for my picky husband). Luke also provided beach supplies like beach chairs, body boards, and snorkel equipment, which we were lucky to have when we came upon sea turtles swimming nearby. The view from this place is amazing, and you can see Molokini Crater in the distance. While there is not much happening in Maalaea, this condo is centrally located on Maui, making the drive to any part of the island easy – we drove into Kihei many times, were very close to Target and Walmart, and right by Maalaea harbor. Beach access is a very short walk away, plus you can grab a lounge chair and enjoy great view from the courtyard. Both the building and general area are quiet, which was nice to come back to after a day of exploring the island. | Kerry G stayed March, 2022 We really enjoyed our stay at Luke’s condo. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We’d previously stayed in Kihei, but the condo is closer to Lahaina and also near a great beginner’s surfing beach where my husband had a private lesson. It’s located on a small resort style strip that is also extremely central to everything you want to visit, so you get the best of both worlds. There is a coffee shop at the marina that’s about a 10-minute walk from the condo, and also a restaurant called Seascapes. I don’t recommend Seascapes, which has apparently hiked its prices and seems to be catering to the aquarium crowd. But the coffee shop makes a good sandwich and is worth the walk. We stocked up on groceries in Kihei. The condo itself is on the top floor of a U-shaped complex that looks out onto a swimming pool and BBQ area and the ocean beyond that. We had our meals on the balcony, watching people frolicking in the pool and the whales frolicking in the ocean. Our favorite spot outside was under a tree on a seaside grassy spot. The complex is extremely clean, well run, and a very welcoming environment. We woke up every morning to the sounds of birds and waves. The condo itself is stocked with pretty much everything you need, and it’s a really nice space with an especially lovely master bedroom. The bed was super comfortable, too. Check-in was super easy. And we always had a parking spot in the large parking lot. All in all, an incredibly easy, no-surprises, relaxing stay, and a big thumbs up. We’d love to return. Thanks, Luke! |

We traveled to Maui with our two college-aged children and found Luke and Maisie’s condo to be exactly what we expected it to be. The furnishings and décor are lovely, the kitchen is well-equipped and the beds were super comfortable. As important, the location of this property cannot be beat. We rarely traveled more than 40 minutes to any destination which allowed us to visit various parts of the island on multiple occasions. Haycraft Beach is within 2 blocks (an easy walk) and is rarely crowded. You can take the beach chairs that are provided and spend an afternoon relaxing close to home! When we began planning our trip, we knew we were looking for a fairly quiet, well-maintained property with a pool, beach access, and a central location that would allow us to explore various parts of Maui. My family and I had stayed here with 3 little ones and the beach chairs, beach towels, beach toys, and beach umbrella really came in handy since we were traveling. We didn’t have to go out and buy these items nor pack them ourselves and travel with it, which makes everything easier. Also, the location is GREAT with Haycraft Beach literally steps away from the condo. That beach is beautiful, has plenty of space for families, and is not as crowded as the other popular beaches on Maui. Not only that, the location is about a 15-25 min drive from all the major cities like Kihei, Kahului, and Lahaina, which is REALLY convenient. As an added plus, the interior decor and design of the home are just beautiful and really makes the place feel comfy and cozy, yet luxurious and modern. The A/C in the unit was awesome and everything was and felt super clean. And, waking up to the sound and view of the ocean was always a relaxing way to start the day. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone traveling to Maui with their family! |

My Fiancé and I enjoyed having a beautiful view with everything we needed at our fingertips. For a day at the beach, there are chairs, an umbrella and even a lunch cooler. If you are someone that requires “white noise” to sleep, there’s even a small fan that can be set up in the bedroom. There are board games, a guide with things to do in Maui, and there is a Walmart no more than 20 mins away. My Fiancé proposed to me on this trip which made it an unforgettable memorable trip! We will be back! |

The balcony with this wonderful view was our favorite place. Most of our time in this condo was spent there, sitting at the high table searching for sea turtles. We also like the central location. It is the best spot to explore the rest of Maui. Maisie and Luke are so nice and helpful. Each question was answered within an hour. We hope that we can come back some day! Mahalo. |

Luke Knowles is immediately responsive to any thing you need (refrigerator needed a new water filter which was promptly replaced, this was the only need) Body boards, beach chairs & towels, kid toys, mask-snorkel-fins, and lots more. Very clean & comfortable with more than enough closet & drawer space for all you bring. The pictures in VRBO give you some idea of the beauty & completeness of this fabulous accommodation. 5 STARS *****for this unit. We will stay here next time we visit Maui. |

| Paul P stayed October, 2018 Perfectly located and supremely functional ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you’re not into being in the hustle and bustle of the resort towns, this is a place for you. We were 3 adults and a 12yr. old. The ocean was perfect for all of us to just walk out in the morning and bob in the water. There’s a little reef to the right where, snorkeling on a clear day you can see coral, sea anemones, a variety of fish, etc. And because the property is well appointed with ice chest, chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, etc. we didn’t need to go in search of renting or buying these things. I would suggest water shoes as the ocean floor can be a little rocky if you veer away from the water in front of the property. I brought an inflatable paddle board with us and had the good fortune of a calm ocean so we were able to use it every single day. When we left the airport, we made an immediate stop at Target and bought things for breakfast. The next day, we did a costco run and had everything we needed for the week. We cooked in 5 of the 7 nights we were there and made use of the barbecue for lunch ‘al fresco’ one afternoon. Overall we had a great week and would definitely recommend this property. The ‘regulars’ in the pool were helpful with tips on what to see and what to skip. Every persons trip is different but having this as a home base was ideal for us. |

The kitchen was stocked with everything that I’d have in my personal kitchen at home and I do mean everything! There were also so many items that we could use for the beach including lounge chairs, towels, etc! The condo was spotless and the upgrades were amazing especially the wine cooler (refrigerator). The view of the beach was amazing and stunning at sunset! Luke was very responsive with any questions I had and I would highly suggest this condo. I read reviews on a lot of condos in Hawaii and some of them mentioned bugs so I was paranoid but we didn’t see a single bug during our entire stay! We loved the condo and we’ll definitely do another stay next summer! My mother and I loved everything about the condo! |

It is beautifully redone, well stocked, the view is stunning, access to a beach is just a few steps away, and a very attentive owner. We came in at the tail end of Hurricane Lane and Luke was so helpful keeping us updated on the weather, making sure the condo was stocked with water, and offering to assist us if we got in and needed anything. We enjoyed the central location to everywhere we wanted to go on the island. The turtle watching from the lanai during morning coffee was such a treat. Pool and grounds are very well cared for and we loved being within walking distance to the harbor and the couple of restaurants/shops there. We have zero complaints with this condo and would absolutely stay here again and recommend you do so as well. |

Our hosts were very easy to work with and provided us with all the information we needed to enjoy our trip on the island. The condo has recently been updated and has top of the line amenities. It is beautifully decorated and we found it to be very clean. Also, the ocean was right out our windows. Since the condo is centrally located on the island many parts of the island were very easy to explore. And, if we did not feel like cooking, many restaurants were very close. When we return to Maui we will definitely book with Luke and Maisie again. |

The pool and BBQ area were a real bonus. We loved spending time on the quiet sugar beach just steps away from the condo. It is only a short driving distance to most places, and it is close to highway 30 which takes you anywhere in the island. Traffic congestion was not an issue from this location. Maalaea Harbor is less than one mile away – very convenient especially for snorkeling or fishing trips. We loved our stay and would definitely stay there again. |

We are florists so a rest of body and soul was much needed! That’s exactly what we found at the condo. Perfect unobstructed views of the water, coffee on the lanai, birds singing in the morning; true paradise. I love to cook and the kitchen had absolutely everything I needed except a garlic press, amazing. Usually I’m trying to work with one dull knife and a couple of terribly used pans. It was also nice some items had been either stocked or left by previous vacationers. Spices, sugar, maple syrup etc. We left some of our items as well that we thought could be used. Always thought it was stupid to toss absolutely everything upon leaving when someone else could use it (dry goods) Highly recommend! Central location so we saw so much more of the island this time. When we were in Lahaina last time we stayed at that end except for 1 day to Hana. Thank you for such a well stocked condo. Really enjoyed ourselves. |

It had everything that we needed, including a lot of drawers and storage space so we didn’t have to live out of our suitcases. It was wonderful listening to the waves in the evenings and having coffee in the morning overlooking the ocean. We walked to the beach multiple times and found that the central location was perfect for adventuring to the other parts of the island. We accidentally locked ourselves out of the condo one morning but the on-island manager was extremely responsive and went and unlocked it right away. Everything was perfect and we would love to stay there next time we go to Maui. |

| Sonia stayed May, 2018 This condo was fabulous! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was very nicely decorated, (looks nicer in person than in the pictures and good quality furnishings) the view was stunning! The kitchen had everything! And I mean EVERYTHING! We were not traveling with small children, we were 2 twenty somethings and 2 fifty somethings. They had high chairs, children’s reading materials, games, boogie boards, beach chairs and they even have a cooler. If you think you might need it, chances are they have it. There were plenty of towel as well as beach towels. There’s a washer/dryer (clean cloths before heading home) and close enough to attractions you might be interested in. I usually skip reviews and leave it for others to do however, I had to leave one for the owners of this condo! They do an excellent job of hosting. I would recommend this to anyone. |

The condo was set up for you to arrive and enjoy your vacation with now worries. There was a high chair, pack and play, cooler, beach toys, and even a crock pot. We opened the windows at night and would fall asleep to the sound of the swaying palm trees and waves crashing on the beach. Couldn’t have been happier with the rental. |

The condo is situated at a perfect location in Maui; it is equidistant to Lahaina, Kihei and the airport. It looks exactly like what is shown in the pictures! All the amenities looked new and were very clean. We had a toddler on this trip, and Luke had the crib and high chair ready for us when we arrived. Elsewhere, people would have had to rent these. So it was very helpful! All the beach accessories like surf boards, chairs, snorkel set, beach towels are provided for free. The view from the Lanai was amazing. We would definitely stay at this condo when we visit Maui next time. It is worth the price! Five stars for the condo! Five stars for Luke and Brit’s hospitality! |

The unit is easy to check in to, tastefully decorated, and well stocked with necessities. While there isn’t a dining room table, the breakfast bar and lanai table were fine, and the property has a couple of outdoor tables by the bbq’s/pool/ocean, that were almost always available. While the private area of beach is difficult to swim at because of the lack of shoreline and rockiness, there is a beach park a block away and the pool lovely. The area is very quiet, and close to the marina and aquarium. That’s about it for walkable activities, though. However, the drive to resorts/shopping/surfing/good snorkeling etc. is only about 15 minutes, and I found it nice to get out of the fray of the resort areas. I couldn’t recommend the property more! |

The beach was nice, swimmable and walkable for miles. We saw lots of turtles out front and most mornings saw great shows of the whales. The area is generally quiet, and a short walk up the street there is a convenience store and a few shops and restaurants on the marina. The condo was very well outfitted with everything we needed. There were plenty of utensils, appliances and bbqs which made it easy to prepare our own meals or to pack up a picnic for a day out. There were also toys and snorkel gear, a bonus that we did not need to pack our own. The extra items provided were beyond what we expected. Very modern and beautifully decorated, the amenities were mostly brand new and more improvements were coming with installers arriving just as we were departing. In the end we did have a small misunderstanding which we were able to work out with owner and property manager quickly. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would book this property again in the future. |

It is perfect for 2 couples or a family. My husband and I stayed here with our 2 young sons, who also loved the space. The condo is stocked with anything you might need for a child – a pack and play, booster chair with attachable tray, sand toys, and body boards. Everything you need for the beach is here, including beach chairs, towels, and a cooler. The location of the condo is better than we could have hoped for. It is centrally located in Ma’alaea. While Ma’alaea has little to offer by way of restaurants (although the General Store in Ma’alaea has amazing fish tacos and delicious iced coffee), you can easily drive to towns in South or West Maui in about 15-20 minutes. It is also easily accessible to the airport, Hana Highway, Iao Valley, and many other attractions that would be much more difficult and time consuming to get to if you stayed in West Maui or South Maui. We debated staying in West Maui and are so glad we stayed where we did because of the easy accessibility to everything. With 2 young children, we try to minimize long car rides. This location made it possible to explore Maui and not be in the car for excessively long periods of time. The unit is an end unit on the top floor (4th floor) so it is quiet. (And yes, there is an elevator to the 4th floor). The view is spectacular. We could see whales from the patio almost every morning and evening. The king bed and pillows are super comfortable, and we slept very well! There is access to a community pool and grilling area, but most importantly (at least to us and our children) there is access to the beach. The beach almost feels like a private beach since there are only condo buildings along this portion of the beach (no resorts). So the beach was wide open, which was wonderful. Lastly, Luke is wonderful to work with. He is very responsive, proactive, and kind. The happiness of the people renting this unit really matters to him, which is refreshing. I would absolutely recommend this unit! |

It was beautifully decorated, furnished, had a well equipped kitchen and was outfitted for beach activities. We enjoyed the location that provided easy access to Lahaina and Kihei. The unit is a short walking distance to an oceanfront park which fronts on sandy Sugar Beach, completely undeveloped and great for long walks, bird, turtle and whale watching. The beach provides an easy walking access to a beautiful wetland with a board walk and signs that identify many of the birds. The owner and unit manager were very responsive to all our needs both during booking and our stay. We highly recommend this condo. |
