Luana Kai Maui is an Amenity-Rich Beachfront Resort in Kihei
Luana Kai Maui is an oceanfront resort with 113 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom condos set on over 5 acres of lush tropical landscaping in the beach town of Kihei. By amenity-rich, we mean, a heated pool, hot tub, two saunas, putting green, shuffleboard, five BBQ grills, and multiple tennis and pickleball courts.
Enjoy amazing views of the Pacific Ocean, neighboring islands Kahoolawe and Molokini, and Maui’s world famous sunsets from your lanai or the beach in front of the condo.
Waipuilani Beach Park is the expansive grassy area between the resort and the beach. This area is great for playing ball sports like football, tennis and pickleball. Waipuilani beach is about 1.5 miles long and great for taking long walks, snorkeling (there are lots of sea turtles in this area), paddleboarding, swimming and building sand castles.
There is a reef about 250 yards out from the beach that keeps the water very shallow. Local fisherman can be seen standing way out by the reef.
Great Location
Luana Kai is centrally located in Maui, making it easily accessible to popular destinations on the island. The towns of Wailea, Makena, and Maalaea are all a short drive away.
There are many great restaurants and some grocery stores within walking distance of the resort. Our favorite eateries include Coconut’s Fish Cafe, Monsoon India, Nalu’s South Shore Grill, Wow Wow Lemonade (go there for the acai bowls), Miso Phat Sushi, Home Maid Cafe (the best malasadas) and Maui Pie for dessert.
Resort Layout
Luana Kai is made up of four 3-story buildings that make the shape of the letter V with serifs. Buildings A and D are directly facing the ocean and have beautiful 180 degree views, while buildings B and C have nice ocean views from the upper two levels. There is a parking lot on each side of the resort with one spot alloted for each condo.
Vacation Rentals
Knowles Maui offers one 1-bedroom condo, two 2-bedroom condos and one 3-bedroom condo for rent as a vacation rentals at Luana Kai. Luana Kai D203 is a second floor condo with 1,150 square feet of living space and amazing 180 degree ocean views. This condo had a $500,000 remodel and is quite possibly the nicest condo in Maui.
Luana Kai B309 and Luana Kai B314 are third floor modern luxury condos with great ocean views. Both have had recent expensive remodels.

From the moment we walked in, we instantly felt like we were home. The condo is impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and extremely welcoming. The location is prime to many restaurants with delicious, fantastic happy hours, some of the best coffee shops, top beaches and easy access to other parts of the island. We woke up every morning to a beautiful beach in walking distance to enjoy the perfect weather as the sun was rising. Each evening, we were able to watch the incredible sunsets on the West Side, and walk to Kihei’s best happy hour at Nalu’s. The hosts provided everything we needed to feel at home, along with an extensive list of recommendations and must-dos. We have stayed in Maui multiple times, and this has been our favorite condo so far!
